Yes, we provide you with the necessary information you need based on where you live! Our database shares all of the information you will need at different stages of your dog bakery. We do this to help you save time so you can focus on moving your dog bakery forward.

In the vast majority of states, yes! Inside our course, we guide you on who to contact in regard to state regulations. This is an area that has changed over the recent years since we first launched this course. The good news is that we are regularly up-to-date on rules and regulations.

California has some of the strictest business regulations in the U.S. (for all businesses!) and requires the use of a commercial kitchen. In most states, dog treats do not fall under the cottage food law and need to be registered through your state in order to sell them. We have had numerous students from CA use a commercial kitchen. 

All of Diva Dog Bakery's recipes are meat-free, which can make an impact on whether or not you need to use a commercial kitchen. You also need to be a licensed business in order to bake and sell dog treats.

Yes! We’ve had students from around the world. While we do cover some rules and regulations specifically for the U.S., the starting point for licensing and registration is often similar worldwide. Every country is different. We have students from Mexico, Canada, England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and more!

Inside our community, we have specific threads based on your location that are a great starting point but we do not cover other countries in-depth like we do in the U.S. A few ingredient brands may not be available worldwide, but we can help you find a suitable substitute.

At this time, the recipe book is exclusive to students of the course.

We are big fans of using what you have in the kitchen and scaling your business as you grow! Inside the course, we’ll provide recommendations and tools we use, all of which are optional.

With that being said, starting a new business takes some financial resources.

Depending on the type of business you have, a business license is typically required to sell dog treats in various markets. There are small, miscellaneous fees for using Etsy and setting up shop at your farmer’s market.

I (Kristin) am used to bootstrapping and starting my businesses from scratch and will help you do the same. I present as many DIY options as possible to help you get started, as well as include recommendations to help you reinvest in your bakery as you grow.

No, we are not a franchise! Unlike traditional brick-and-mortar franchises, we teach you how to start your own independent homemade dog treat bakery. 

While a franchise can cost tens of thousands of dollars with start-up costs and monthly fees, our course teaches you exactly what you need to get started for just $299 with an optional paid Community (with the first 30 days free with your purchase!)
